Evergreen Business Capital is a mission-driven financial organization supporting small businesses across the Pacific Northwest.
Evergreen Business Capital faced a challenge shared by many mid-sized teams: How do we strengthen connections and trust across a company of diverse employees?
After years of shifting between virtual and in-person formats, Evergreen’s leadership team wanted to strengthen communication, renew alignment, and reestablish the meaningful, high-performing culture that had defined them before the pandemic.
Their goal was clear: create a workplace environment that felt connected and productive—no matter where people worked.
CuriosityBased partnered with Evergreen to design a series of workshops, each building on the last to cultivate deeper connection and shared purpose.
Dr. Julie Pham and her facilitation team invested time in understanding Evergreen’s needs. Drawing from CuriosityBased’s frameworks on curiosity, respect, and communication, they designed experiences that were both reflective and practical.
What we did:
Each series of workshops combined:
By balancing play and purpose, the sessions gave participants space to connect authentically while also identifying tangible next steps for working together more effectively.
What emerged from these sessions was more than just better meetings—it was a renewed sense of trust and alignment throughout Evergreen Business Capital.
Participants described the sessions as energizing, eye-opening, and deeply connecting. In post-retreat evaluations, team members praised both the facilitation and the meaningful progress achieved in less than a day.
Outcomes included:
As one leader shared, the experience reminded them that curiosity and respect aren’t just ideals—they’re the foundation of how strong teams rebuild together.
“Our team at Evergreen Business Capital has enjoyed working with Dr. Julie Pham and her colleagues during the multiple sessions they facilitated for our employees. We found the work provocative, stimulating, and even challenging. The facilitators led our team to come together and learn about new ways of communicating, understanding, and empowering each other. Our team had been working with a lot of newer employees and many were working remotely and this gave us the opportunity to know each other better and find connections. We encourage other organizational leaders to consider Dr. Pham and her staff to engage your team to be more effective and efficient through easy to adopt new practices.”
