Kristina Katayama says
Seeing this list brings tears to my eyes … growing up assimilating into White Dominate American Culture to survive as the only Asian American outside of my house in a small, rural, white “all-American” town, seeing something of myself reflected in the people around me has been exceptional and isolating. I’m reminded how much representation matters in moments like these. It brings up all kinds of internal reflections of my own displacement of myself and my culture, minimized, lost, confused, scared, proud and curious, belonging nowhere and everywhere all at the same time. Thank you.
